Dinners for the whole week.
Samla is a recipe app for kitchens where more than one person cooks: save a recipe once, put it on a day of the week, and what needs buying lands on a shopping list sorted by aisle. Everyone in the household sees the same week and the same list, each on their own phone.
One week at a time
Three places the week usually breaks
Sunday: five dinners, not seven
Fill the days you actually cook at home and leave the rest empty. A plan with gaps in it is a plan that survives to Thursday.
Wednesday: somebody else shops
The list is already on the other phone, with the same item on one line even when it came from three different recipes.
Friday: the one that worked
It stays in the household's collection rather than in somebody's browser history, and goes back onto next week in one press.
Questions
Common questions
- How many people can be in a household?
- Everyone who lives in it. A household is one subscription rather than one per person, and each person has their own account. The children do not have to log in as somebody else.
- Can anyone change my recipes?
- Only if you have given them the editor role. Everyone in the household can read everything; changing someone else's recipe is a separate permission, and nobody can create a recipe in your name.
- What happens if I stop paying?
- Nobody loses anything. The household goes dormant and each person sees their own again. The recipes, weeks and lists stay where they are and come back if the subscription restarts.
