Assistants · Claude and ChatGPT
Just ask what's for dinner.
Connect Samla to Claude or ChatGPT, then talk to it the way you'd talk to someone in the kitchen. It looks through the recipes you saved, puts one on a day, and adds what you're missing to the shopping list. You ask. It does the typing.
You sign in to Samla and approve the connection there. There is no key to create, copy or paste.
- You asked
There's a chicken in the fridge. What can I make, and can you put it on Thursday?
- Your assistant used
- Your assistant answered
You saved this one in March. It serves four and needs 1 h 25 min. I've put it on Thursday dinner and added the four things you're missing to Veckohandling.
- Done
Miso butter roast chicken
Capabilities
Everything an assistant may do.
This is the whole list. Reading is part of every plan. Adding to a plan or a list needs Premium.
What it can read
Freelist_recipesLists the recipes you saved, with the basics: title, collections, times and servings.
get_recipeOpens one recipe in full: every ingredient, every step, the nutrition.
search_recipesFinds a recipe by a word in its title or among its ingredients.
get_meal_planReads what is planned between two dates.
list_shopping_listsLists your shopping lists and how many items are on each.
What it can add
Premiumcreate_shopping_listStarts a new shopping list and fills it with the ingredients from the recipes you named.
schedule_mealPuts a recipe on a day and a meal, breakfast through snack.
What it cannot do
It cannot delete anything, it cannot change your household, and it cannot touch your account. There is no tool for any of the three.
Connecting
One address, and nothing to paste after it.
Add the address
Your profile holds one address, under MCP access. Paste it into Claude, ChatGPT or any other MCP app, wherever it asks for a server.
Sign in and approve
The app sends you to Samla. You sign in, read what is being asked for, and allow it.
Start asking
Back in the app, ask what is for dinner. It reads your library and answers from it.
MCP access
Let Claude Desktop into your library?
Approving lets Claude Desktop reach your recipes, meal plans and shopping lists. You can take that access back at any time from your profile.
The boundary
Where it stops.
Your kitchen, and your household's
An assistant sees exactly what you see when you sign in: your own recipes, plans and lists, plus the ones your household shares with you. Nobody else's, on any plan.
You let it in. You can take it back.
Access always starts with you: you approve it in Samla, never in a settings field in your assistant. Remove it in your profile, under MCP access, and the connection stops working that second.
Reading is free, adding is Premium
Asking and being answered is part of every plan. Putting a recipe on a day or starting a shopping list needs Premium, the same as it does in the app.
Whenever you're ready
Put your recipes where you already talk.
Claude or ChatGPT, one address, a couple of minutes. You sign in to Samla and approve the connection there, and reading costs nothing.
